The Mughals of Nawakille ( Squash Champions of the world)

If one were to call a enclosed box of not more than 60 sq metres with vague lines drawn across them a kingdom , and the squash racquets the swords to win over the kingdom then surely the khans would be the kingdom's knights in shining armour.

The dynasty of champions originated from a little village, Nawakille, near Peshawar. Hashim, Azam, Roshan, Moibullah (Senior), Jahangir and yes, the last Emperor, Jansher.

The Mughals of Nawakille have shared between themselves lots of precious silver.Since 1950, they have won 29 British Opens. When the World Open was initiated in 1975, they were quick to engrave their name on this premier event. Jahangir won six, Jansher a record eight.

Yesterday was my first day trying to comprehend the mystery of this above mentioned kingdom with its vague lines and claustrophobic court.I though am a mere peasant writing this ode to the emperors who once ruled this place.

The World is Flat

Q.
When do you start beliving in a book which talks about the creation of a level playing field courtesy the creation of internet, that tells you have the world has become flat because of increased globalisation.

A.
When u buy a pirated copy of the same book(The World is Flat) from a push cart in blore for rs 150 instead of a fancy hard copy of rs 750 in a barnes and nobles or gangarams or teksons depending on where u are.don't think even amazon could offer me such a deal. Never before have learning about prespectives become so democratized. come to think of it , in terms of acessability this book is equidistant from an engg student or a harried business executive.

However what would have given me a greater kick would have been to find a free soft copy of the same book on the internet ;-).
The world is indeed flat MR Friedman.

Heritage Jogging Routes

The morning of 3rd October was special , because i managed to get up early ;-) . I also manged to jog on a very special route, right along the victoria memorials across the maidan and then along virginia house back to park hotel where i was staying. Except for the fact that it had rained the previous night , everything about the route was very special.

Just like heritage walks are planned maybe a few enthu runners from across India can document and probably put up the best jogging routes of their cities on the net.I am sure frequent flyers with bulging bellies like me would find this immensely useful.

A few good jogging routes that i have been to are as follows

1. Along RK beach vizag (it also passes across a SUBMARINE museum.
2. The rajpath from india gate to the rashtrapati bhavan between the north and south block. The slope makes it tough 4 a run too.
3.The kolkata maidan -victoria memorial strech.
